Healthy Hair

The health of your hair is an outward expression of the health of your body.

Your body runs on minerals; they’re essential for everything from hormone balance and digestive health to skin clarity and cognitive function. They impact the function of every system in your body. If your body is lacking sufficient minerals & nutrients, your body will have to use minerals meant for healthy hair to do other things. This means you’re much more likely to have thin, stringy hair that won’t grow well. Low or unbalanced mineral levels are going to look & present differently for everyone.

This means healthy hair isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution.

Everyone’s body is lacking differently. That’s why I recommend doing a wide range of intentionally GOOD THINGS for your body (mainly consuming whole foods) this way, your body has access to lots of nourishment options & can take what it needs. *bonus, you’ll also probably start to see improvement in other areas of your health too!*

You need to do things to intentionally nourish your body & from that will come healthy hair!

My hair wash routine:

  1. I only wash my hair every 2-6 weeks (yes, it takes time to work up to this). Not everyone will do this, but this is what works best for my hair.

  2. Before I wash, I do an apple cider vinegar rinse. Combine 1/2 cup ACV, 1/2 cup water, and 20 drops of orange essential oil in a bowl or spray bottle. Saturate your hair and scalp in the mixture and let sit for 20 minutes to a few hours (as long as you can) It will tingle and may burn a bit if you have dandruff.

  3. Once in the shower, rinse your hair well to get the ACV rinse out.

  4. Shampoo and conditioner as normal

  5. While my hair is air drying, I add Miriah Hair oil to the ends and Joy essential oil throughout.
